karakuzhambu
For Five;-
Ingredients: 1.Baby onion - 2
2.Curry leaf - 1twig
3.Pepper -1/2tsp
4.Jeera -1/2tsp
5.Fenugreek -1/2tsp
6.Tamarind concentrate -1tsp
7.Jaggery -1tsp
8.Chilli powder- 1/2tsp
9.Salt - to taste
10.for garnishing - mustard,urad,Vadagam if availble
11.Oil -4to 5 tsp
Procedure ;- Dry fry pepper,jeera and fenugreek.Grind to powder.
Fry onion and curry leaf.Grind to paste.
In a kadai,add 2 tsp oil.Add mustard and urad.(Vadagam)
When mustard spurts,add onion paste,Pepper mix powder.
Mix tamarind paste to a thick liquid,add chilli powder and add to the kadai.
Add the remaining oil.Stir constantly under sim fire till the mix separates.
Add salt and jaggery.
Serve with kootu or pappad.Sundakkai or manathakkali vathal fried can be added.When this is added, reduce salt to half the required quantity.
